The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is currently accepting applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program (CGSP) 2025-26, offering fully funded study opportunities in China for Pakistani students. Applications are submitted through the China Scholarship Council (CSC) portal under Agency No. 5861.
In a separate development, 25 annual scholarships have been announced specifically for Pakistani nursing students. These are part of a joint initiative under the China-Pakistan TVET Industrial Centre of Excellence (CPTICE) and will send students to China’s Guizhou Nursing Vocational College for a one-year program.
The nursing scholarship program, called the “Pakistan-Guijiang Workshop,” kicked off in September 2024. The first batch of students is scheduled to depart in fall 2025. Diplomas from this program will be recognised in both China and Pakistan. There is also a combined “CNA (2+1)” joint programme in which students will study two years in Pakistan and one year in China.
The CGSP offers Pakistani students opportunities at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels in designated fields, including but not limited to engineering, medicine, agriculture, economics, management, and the social sciences. Eligibility rules include meeting academic and health standards, language requirements, and having documents like transcripts, letters of recommendation, and applying via the CSC portal.
For Pakistani students, these programs offer doors to quality foreign education, especially those who might lack resources for full fees abroad. Nursing students gain not only education but international credentials recognized at home which may improve job prospects. Awareness of application deadlines and requirements matters — missing them means losing these rare opportunities.
