Gaza’s civil defence agency has said that Israeli military operations killed at least 30 people in the Palestinian territory since dawn.
The agency said there had been “30 martyrs in the Gaza Strip since dawn today, and the toll is not final”. A single Israeli strike on Khan Younis killed at least 25 people, a medical source at the southern city’s Nasser Hospital told AFP.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that humanitarian group Mercy Corps has warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is escalating as no aid truck has been allowed into the Strip for an entire month.
According to the NGO, 85 per cent of Gaza’s population no longer has access to basic food items. It adds that 34 hospitals and 80 health centres have been destroyed, while severe medical supply shortages have crippled healthcare.
All remaining bakeries are shutting down due to lack of fuel, leaving families with no means to access food, according to Mercy Corps.
