Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi faced a moment of turmoil a day earlier when he was temporarily prohibited from flying abroad. He was informed that his name was on the no-fly list. Despite the setback, he was later allowed to proceed with his travel plans to China.
Details revealed that Mr Abbasi and his wife were scheduled to board flight CZ 6008 to China from Islamabad Airport. However, during immigration clearance, he was notified that his name was on the stop list following orders from the Sindh court.
Consequently, he was initially informed that he could not continue his journey, leading him to leave the airport lounge. However, assurances were later given that the matter would be resolved promptly, eventually enabling him to resume his travel.
When approached for comment, Mr Abbasi denied any disruption, stating that he had already departed for China. Despite attempts to contact the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration authorities, no response was received.
