he Israeli government has accepted resignation of Head of Israeli Intelligence Directorate MG Aharon Haliva over the intelligence agency’s failures that led to the October 7 attack.
The Israeli chief of the general staff and minister of defence have accepted his resignation and decided that Haliva would retire from the Israeli Defence Force once his successor is appointed, the IDF announced this on its Telegram channel. He served for more than 38 years in the IDF.
“The intelligence division under my command did not live up to the task we were entrusted with. I have carried that black day with me ever since,” he said in a resignation letter released by the military.
