In an effort to address environmental and traffic concerns, the Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed authorities to impose significant fines. Effective immediately, individuals who engage in wrong parking will face fines of Rs5,000, while those who wash their vehicles at home will be fined Rs3,000.
This decision is part of an ongoing hearing related to smog remediation in the provincial capital.
The LHC has specified that the fines collected through these penalties will contribute to the funds of the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) and support various water-related initiatives.
Furthermore, the Judicial Water Commission has proposed penalties for individuals who do not wear helmets while riding motorcycles. According to the recommendations, violators will be fined Rs2,000 for failing to wear helmets as part of efforts to enhance road safety and reduce accidents.
