Lahore Qalandars’ campaign in PSL 9 has been dealt a significant blow as their star fast bowler, Haris Rauf, has been ruled out of the tournament after sustaining a shoulder injury. Rauf dislocated his shoulder while taking a catch during a match against Karachi Kings on Saturday night.
The incident occurred in the 20th over of the game when Rauf fell awkwardly after successfully dismissing Hasan Ali with a catch. Despite his exceptional performance in the match, where he bowled the most economical four overs for his team, conceding only 22 runs and taking one wicket, Rauf’s injury will force him to miss the rest of the PSL season.
According to a press release by Lahore Qalandars, the medical panel has advised a recovery period of four to six weeks for Rauf. Lahore Qalandars Director, Sameen Rana, expressed regret over Rauf’s absence, emphasizing his importance to the team’s bowling attack.
Skipper Shaheen Afridi also expressed sadness over Rauf’s injury, acknowledging his pivotal role in the team and wishing him a speedy recovery. Despite the setback, Afridi remains confident in the team’s ability to perform well in the remaining matches of the tournament.
