Balochistan’s Caretaker Minister of Information, Jan Achakzai, has dismissed allegations of firing against Manzoor Pashteen, the head of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), stating that “a guard of Manzoor Pashteen fired,” resulting in injuries to a woman and a child.
Jan Achakzai explained that “Manzoor Pashteen has been detained, but no case has been registered against him after bringing him into custody.”
Jan Achakzai mentioned that “despite restrictions on Manzoor Pashteen entering the province, he arrived in Chaman and had been holding continuous sit-ins in Chaman for the past several days.”
The Minister of Information recounted the incident that occurred on Monday, saying that “when Manzoor Pashteen left for Turbat, a guard of his fired in front of the Chaman Press Club, injuring a woman and a child.”
On the other hand, the central coordinator of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, Agha Zabir Shah, and Fida Muhammad also confirmed Manzoor Pashteen’s arrest, stating that he was detained on Monday evening in the central area of Chaman city.
Quetta Bar Association’s President Malik Abid Kakar and General Secretary Changiz Hayat Baloch Advocate, in an earlier statement, declared a complete boycott of all courts on Tuesday against the firing on Manzoor Pashteen and his subsequent arrest.
