The Balochistan government has taken a major step toward modern governance by launching its first-ever automated digital financial e-filing system.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the system during a ceremony at the CM Secretariat in Quetta on Tuesday. The initiative aims to modernize financial processes, increase transparency, and improve public access to development and budgetary information.
Addressing provincial ministers, lawmakers, and senior officials, CM Bugti said the new system will replace outdated bureaucratic practices and streamline all financial transactions and budget submissions across departments. “This system will serve as the backbone of financial reform in Balochistan,” he stated, emphasizing that digital access will now allow citizens to monitor the status of development projects and financial allocations from their own devices.
Key Features and Goals
The system includes tools for real-time data access, digital budget submissions, and automated approval processes. It also facilitates better oversight and record-keeping at every stage of financial planning and implementation. All departments are now required to submit budget requests online, cutting red tape and improving accountability.
Live dashboards will enable both government officials and citizens to track project progress—whether completed or still in the planning stage.
Commitment to Digital Governance
CM Bugti announced that future cabinet meetings would be conducted entirely using digital tablets to reduce paper usage and improve efficiency. He praised the provincial IT team behind the project, noting it was developed entirely in-house without external help. As a reward, he announced a one-month salary bonus for the government employees involved and pledged incentives for private-sector contributors.
He added, “Balochistan is entering the digital age with a system built by our own youth—this is something every Pakistani should be proud of.”
Implementation & Demonstration
Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon provided a live demonstration of the e-filing system’s functions during the event, showing how departments can now digitally process budget and expenditure records. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the development team, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and innovation.
This initiative places Balochistan in alignment with national and global trends toward e-governance and reflects growing momentum across provinces to digitalize public administration.
