Shigar: The Returning Officer for GBA-12 Shigar has issued show-cause notices to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Muhammad Tahir Shigri and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Imran Nadeem over alleged violations of the election code of conduct during the ongoing election campaign.

According to an official statement, Muhammad Tahir Shigri was served a notice for allegedly announcing development schemes during his election campaign. He has been directed to submit a written explanation within 24 hours.

In a separate case, PPP candidate Imran Nadeem received a show-cause notice over allegations that individuals associated with his campaign participated in activities related to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), potentially seeking electoral advantage. He has also been instructed to provide a written response within 24 hours.

The Returning Officer stated that election laws and the code of conduct would be enforced strictly to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections. He warned that legal action could be taken if the alleged violations are established following the review of responses.
