Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has received a much-needed cash infusion of Rs17 billion to ensure its operational continuity, as learnt by pakprofile.com on Sunday. The national airline, which had been grappling with financial challenges, successfully secured this bank loan, leading to an improvement in its administrative operations.

The airline has obtained a Rs17 billion bank loan, allowing them to meet their financial commitments, including the payment of employee salaries, and ensuring the smooth operation of flights.

The PIA’s spokesperson had previously emphasized that the airline was discharging its financial obligations, both nationally and internationally.

The funds will also be utilized to settle outstanding payments to fuel companies and procure spare parts for immediate aircraft repairs.

Currently, there is an ongoing government-level debate regarding the privatization of the national carrier, spurred by reported monthly losses amounting to billions of rupees.
