Pakistan ace batter Babar Azam on Tuesday, concluded his Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 campaign with Rangpur Riders.
Babar finished his BPL 2024 stint as the leading run-scorer with 251 runs at an average of 50.20 and a strike rate of 114.61. He also registered two half-centuries in the competition.
Notably, Babar ended his stint on a high note as he scored an anchoring 43-ball 47, leading the Riders to a commendable total of 175/4 against Durdanto Dhaka.
Besides Babar Azam, several other Pakistan players who were participating in different franchise leagues across the globe are also returning to the country as they were issued NoC till February 6.
Consequently, Shadab Khan and Azam Khan, who were representing Desert Vipers in the International League T20, have also bid adieu to the tournament midway.
Taking to Twitter, the Vipers paid homage to both Pakistan cricketers for their contributions to the team.
On the contrary, Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir are still in action since they have retired from international cricket.
It is worth mentioning here that the PSL 9 will be held from 17 February to 18 March 2024 in four cities – Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.
Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the curtain-raiser of the tournament between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and two-time champions Islamabad United.
The final of the six-team tournament will be staged at the picturesque National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18.
