Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has stated the interim government will not support anyone in the elections, and there will be no interference in the electoral process for anyone.
Those who are affiliated with PTI will contest elections within the legal framework. Caretaker Prime Minister Kakar, speaking to senior journalists, said. “We have almost three months remaining and we have come to conduct fair elections”, he added.
He further stated that PTI is a lawful party, and those affiliated with it will contest elections within the confines of the law. Kakar added, “I am not an imperial king to dictate whether someone should contest or not. We will not favor anyone, nor will there be any interference in the institutions.”
Regarding illegal immigrants, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar clarified that they are only deporting Afghan migrants who are not registered.
Caretaker Prime Ministerlso stressed the importance of formulating long-term policies to address the deep-rooted economic challenges faced by Pakistan. He highlighted several key issues that the upcoming elected government should focus on, including economic continuity, privatization, external debts, agriculture, services delivery, production of goods, tax net, and support for private businesses.
Kakar explained that while the caretaker government’s role is limited in duration, they are committed to setting priorities and taking actions that are “doable” within their short tenure. For long-term policies, they intend to leave behind drafts and recommendations for the elected government that follows.
