The Pakistan government has recently issued Interpol red notices against former model and actress Sophia Mirza, along with her sister Mariam Mirza, amidst an ongoing legal battle. Both sisters, currently residing in London, have been at the center of a protracted dispute involving Umar Farooq Zahoor, a Dubai-based businessman, over the custody of their two teenage daughters.
The red notices, authorized by the Ministry of Interior through the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), pertain to allegations of fraud, forgery, extortion, defamation, and criminal intimidation, as stated in the FIR lodged against Sophia Mirza, her sister, and others.
According to the FIR, the investigation has uncovered a series of false and vindictive cases filed against Umar Farooq Zahoor, allegedly orchestrated by Sophia Mirza and her associates, including former accountability minister Shehzad Akbar. The complaint underscores the misuse of government resources and manipulation of legal proceedings for personal gain.
Sophia Mirza, formerly known as Khushbakht Mirza, has been accused of utilizing her influence to initiate baseless charges against Zahoor, concealing her identity in the process.
