Pervez Khattak, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians, delivered a speech at a public gathering in Kohat, where he emphasized the significance of maintaining peace and fostering development in the country.
During his address, Khattak highlighted the need for reforms and compared Pakistan’s progress to that of its neighboring country, India. Pervez Khattak expressed his observations about the state of the nation, saying, “The country is witnessing a spectacle. The country has been plundered for the last 35 years, and it has suffered due to corruption.” He stressed the importance of peace as a crucial element in leading the country towards development.
Khattak also reflected on his own political journey and motivations, stating, “Why did I earn from whichever party I joined? I want to see the country’s prosperity.” He pointed out that his focus had always been on the betterment of Pakistan, and he highlighted the reforms initiated during his tenure, particularly in the areas of power and infrastructure.
The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians recalled their efforts to provide medical treatment to every family, extending support of up to Rs 10 million.
Comparing Pakistan’s growth to that of India, Khattak remarked, “Both Pakistan and India gained independence in the same month. But India surpassed Pakistan in terms of growth.” This observation underscored the need for the country to prioritize economic development and progress.
In a separate development, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq criticized both the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Haq questioned the government’s promises regarding poverty alleviation and job creation, highlighting discrepancies in these claims. He also expressed concerns about Pakistan’s relationship with international financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
