The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that the West Indies women’s cricket team is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on April 14 to participate in an exciting series of white-ball matches at the National Bank Stadium.
The tour will feature a three-match ODI series starting on April 18, followed by a five-match T20I series from April 26 to May 3, all to be held at the National Bank Stadium. This marks the second visit of the West Indies women’s team to Pakistan since 2021 when they played three ODIs in Karachi.
Tania Mallick, Head of Women’s Cricket at the PCB, expressed warm regards to the visiting team, highlighting the significance of hosting the fourth series of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25 cycle at home. She emphasized the PCB’s commitment to promoting women’s cricket and fostering international relationships through sporting engagements.
Mallick underscored the importance of the upcoming series in the context of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, stating Pakistan’s determination to secure maximum points from the home matches to qualify directly for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup.
Furthermore, she noted the relevance of the T20I series in finalizing the squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup later this year, citing the team’s recent good performances in the shortest format.
The tour schedule includes the West Indies women’s team’s arrival in Karachi on April 14, followed by the commencement of the ODI series on April 18. The series will be crucial for both teams as they aim to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.
