PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari reaffirmed the party’s alignment with the Pakistan Army and emphasized openness to dialogue with all political parties, including PML-N.
Speaking in London with journalists about the upcoming general elections on February 8 next year, Bukhari highlighted that excluding PTI would jeopardize Pakistan’s political and economic stability. He asserted the party’s stance that elections must be conducted without constraints.
Former PM Khan, along with the PTI, consistently advocates for a fair playing field in the lead-up to next year’s polls. The Election Commission of Pakistan requested intra-party polls, conducted without Khan, where his legal advisor, Barrister Gohar Khan, was nominated as his successor.
Bukhari disclosed the party’s election preparations, emphasizing PTI’s decision to run candidates from every constituency.
Addressing the legal challenges against him in Pakistan, Bukhari expressed willingness to face the NAB reference in the £190 million settlement case upon his return to the country. However, his travel plans are uncertain due to an Interpol request by the caretaker government.
Despite challenges, Bukhari initiated a mass mobilization and fundraising campaign in the UK and Europe, affirming PTI’s commitment to participate in the upcoming elections and highlighting the need for funds to address legal issues and support the election campaign.
