Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif spearheaded a delegation at the recently concluded Pakistan-Qatar IT Conference in Doha, aiming to fortify collaboration between the two nations in the technology sector.
The delegation included representatives from the Special Investment Facilitation Council and the Pakistan Software Export Board, along with active participation from Zohaib Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association, and 30 leading IT companies.
Expressing satisfaction with the warm reception in Qatar, Dr. Umar Saif highlighted positive progress on bilateral technology issues. The conference’s primary goal was to enhance relations between investors and companies from Pakistan and Qatar.
“We want Pakistani and Qatari companies to collaborate, sharing investments and expertise,” emphasized Dr. Umar Saif. He underscored the potential for developing a common platform in crucial areas like artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Dr. Saif acknowledged the substantial efforts of Pakistan’s 30,000 IT companies, connecting the nation to the digital world. He disclosed that Pakistan produces 75,000 IT graduates annually, demonstrating a commitment to world-class training.
“Pakistan’s IT talent and companies are globally recognized,” declared Dr. Umar Saif, showcasing the country’s standing in the international IT landscape.
The conference served as a productive forum for dialogue and collaboration, paving the way for a stronger partnership between Pakistan and Qatar in the rapidly evolving field of information technology.
