Pakistani consumers are poised for potential relief as fuel prices may witness a substantial reduction, with reports indicating a decrease of Rs 13 per liter for petrol and Rs 15 per liter for diesel starting December 16.
The decline in global oil prices is a key factor contributing to this anticipated relief, with the price of petrol per barrel experiencing a drop of $5.49 to $94.95, and diesel decreasing by $5.13 to $100.05 in the international market.
As of now, the current fuel prices in Pakistan stand at Rs 281.34 per liter for petrol and Rs 289.79 per liter for diesel. The government is expected to make a final decision on the revised prices on December 15. If approved, the new prices will be implemented from December 16, providing a welcomed respite for consumers.
