Sher Afzal Marwat, the lawyer of PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said that Imran Khan has been successfully relocated to Adiala Jail but Adiala jail administration refuted the claim, saying that Khan has not yet been shifted there.
In a post on social media platform, Marwat said that Imran Khan has been accommodated in a room with attached facilities, consistent with the prison rules designated for a former prime minister.
Earlier on, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had issued directives for Imran Khan’s transfer from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
During the court proceedings, IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq expressed that it was evident that the former prime minister deserved a better class of imprisonment and that his rights should not be violated.
The court inquired why Imran Khan, who is an under-trial prisoner, was initially held in Attock Jail instead of Adiala Jail, as per the legal requirements for Islamabad-based detainees.

Additionally, the chief justice noted that Imran Khan had been detained in Attock Jail in connection with the Toshakhana criminal case, and his sentence in that case had already been suspended.
The court sought a response from the additional attorney general on this matter. In response, the attorney general stressed the importance of upholding Imran Khan’s rights as per jail regulations and ensuring they are not violated.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Marwat, also requested that the former prime minister, being a sportsman, should be provided with an exercise machine.
Furthermore, it was reported that the Attock Jail superintendent had initially refused to send Imran Khan to Islamabad for security reasons, as he is imprisoned under the Official Secrets Act. A convoy of 20 Islamabad police vehicles stationed outside Attock Jail for this purpose had to return.
The court had earlier instructed Imran Khan to appear in person for a case related to his marriage with Bushra Bibi, which is deemed un-Islamic by some parties.
This development follows a series of legal proceedings involving the PTI Chairman, who is currently facing various charges and legal challenges.
However, confusion regarding the current whereabouts of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan emerged as Adiala jail authorities denied reports of the former prime minister being transferred to the prison, contrary to what his lawyers had claimed.
The Adiala jail administration refuted the claim, saying that Khan has not yet been shifted there.
