As a result of a notable decrease in global oil prices, Pakistan is poised to witness a potential drop in the per-liter price of petrol below the 300-rupee mark.
The anticipated decline is part of the ongoing review that reflects a significant global oil price reduction and an uplifting trend in the value of the Pakistani currency.
Reliable sources said that it has been suggested that, considering the current tax structure, the per-liter prices of petrol and diesel could see a reduction of 36 to 38 rupees.
This projection comes in light of the recent 12 percent decrease in global oil prices, plummeting from $99 per barrel to $87. Moreover, the Pakistani rupee has experienced a positive surge of 4 percent against the dollar, further contributing to the potential decrease in fuel prices.
This development is expected to bring relief to consumers, alleviating some of the burden associated with the cost of fuel in the country. The impending price adjustment is likely to provide respite to the public amidst challenging economic conditions, offering a potential boost to the national economy.
