Punjab Police on Wednesday made a formal request for the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sisters and former Federal Minister Asad Umar in connection with a case related to the mob attack on Jinnah House.
The request was presented before an anti-terrorism court that was hearing pleas for pre-arrest bail filed by Asad Umar, Aleema Khan, and Uzma Khan in the Jinnah House case. This legal action follows the arrest of the PTI chairperson on May 9.
Law enforcement authorities have cited that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has already declared the three individuals guilty in the case, prompting their arrest for further investigation.

In response, Advocate Burhan Moazzam Malik, the counsel representing the accused, argued that the sisters of the PTI chief had not been named in the First Information Report (FIR) and requested to see any document that declared the accused as guilty.
The investigation officer (IO) of the case informed the court that statements recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C) could be produced as evidence.
The presiding judge adjourned the hearing and scheduled the next session for October 16, during which final arguments will be presented.
Aleema Khan, one of the accused, also addressed the court during the hearing, expressing her pursuit of justice. She emphasized that they had consistently appeared before the courts for every proceeding and affirmed her willingness to face incarceration if justice required it. In response, her counsel advised her to refrain from further comments.
