PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has voiced criticism over Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar’s upcoming participation in the UN session. Bilawal argued that the foreign minister should represent Pakistan at the General Assembly, citing the limited mandate of the interim government.
Speaking at a press conference held at Baloch House in Okara, the former foreign minister emphasized that the caretaker government should concentrate on managing the country’s essential affairs and facilitating fair and free elections with equal opportunities for all stakeholders.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to promptly announce the schedule for general elections, ensuring the timely establishment of an elected government to address the nation’s issues.
During the conference, Bilawal mentioned that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would decide on potential electoral alliances once the election schedule is disclosed. He highlighted that during a recent PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, the demand was made for the immediate announcement of the election schedule.
Bilawal expressed concern about the challenges faced by the country, including law and order, terrorism, and political crises. He noted that some believed the political crisis had been resolved following the detention of Imran Khan.
Regarding the appointment of the new chief justice, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari praised Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa for having his spouse, Sarina Isa, present beside him during his oath-taking. He emphasized the importance of restoring the judiciary’s credibility.
“The saying goes that behind every successful man is a powerful woman. It has been proved by Sarina Isa that she is a powerful woman,” Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was quoted as saying in a press release issued by Bilawal House.
