The bodies of six labourers, tragically killed in Turbat, were received in Multan on Sunday and further transported via ambulance to their hometown, Shujaabad, for their final rites.
The Balochistan government facilitated the transfer of the bodies to Multan from Quetta. Balochistan Caretaker Chief Minister Ali Mardan Khan Domki bid farewell to the victims’ bodies at the Khalid military airbase, where prayers were offered for the departed souls. The bodies, originally brought from Turbat, had arrived in Quetta the previous night.
The incident occurred when unknown gunmen attacked the labourers while they were asleep in an under-construction house in Turbat, resulting in the tragic loss of six lives and injuring two others. The deceased have been identified as Rizwan, Shehbaz, Waseem, Shafiq Ahmed, Mohammad Naeem, and Sikander, including two brothers among them. Ghulam Mustafa and Tauheed are currently receiving medical treatment for their injuries.
CM Balochistan Domki expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the grieving families, affirming the provincial government’s shared sorrow and mourning over the loss of the innocent workers. The police have initiated investigations into the brutal attack.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and strongly condemned the reprehensible act. “Deeply saddened to hear about the terrorist attack on innocent labourers in Turbat. My heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families. We condemn this heinous act and stand united against terrorism,” the Prime Minister stated on his official social media account.
