The Indian embassy has reportedly started processing visas for Pakistani journalists to attend the ongoing International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.
This development comes after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed dismay over the delay in visa issuance for Pakistani fans and journalists.
The PCB had raised concerns with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary and requested intervention through the Pakistan High Commission Office in New Delhi. According to ICC regulations, the host country is responsible for issuing visas to fans and journalists covering the event. The delay had caused uncertainty for Pakistani journalists and fans wishing to attend the World Cup.
