The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have agreed to intensify party-level communication as they prepare for a nationwide movement against alleged election rigging.
PTI central leader Asad Qaiser confirmed that he spoke with JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to exchange greetings for Eid ul Fitr. During the conversation, they discussed the current political situation and the formation of the government.
Both parties expressed reservations about the formation of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led coalition government, alleging that the current administration came to power through fraudulent means in the general elections of 2024. Qaiser emphasized the need for an organized public movement against what they perceive as a “fake government.”
Qaiser highlighted the ideological alignment between PTI and JUI-F regarding the planned public movement. He proposed launching the movement under the united platform of “Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Dastoor” for parties believing in the supremacy of law.
This recent communication between PTI and JUI-F follows previous interactions, indicating a potential thaw in relations between the former political rivals. Discussions on forging an alliance and addressing election rigging allegations are reportedly underway, with both parties considering future courses of action.
Meanwhile, the six-party opposition alliance has initiated its protest drive against the government, with a rally in Balochistan’s Pishin. PTI and other opposition parties have united under the banner of “Tehreek Tahafuz Ayin” to reclaim what they perceive as their rights.
The presence of senior leaders from various opposition parties at the gathering underscores the growing momentum behind the movement against the incumbent government.
